McWilliam overcame writer's block following a period of near-blindness brought on by the rare illness blepharospasm to write the Hawthornden Prize-winning memoir What to Look for in Winter. Wolfson College President and OCLW Director Hermione Lee, in her introduction to the lecture, described her voice as "subtle, original and sharp", and her memoir as remarkable for its candour and lack of sef-pity, "told with eloquence, truthfulness and comic brio".

New Research Cluster in Law, Justice and Society launches at Wolfson

The cluster marks a significant development in the partnership between the Foundation for Law, Justice and Society and Wolfson College, and strengthens the existing association with the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, to constitute a major centre for the study of law, justice and society in Oxford.

Such was the provocative view put forward by Dr Nikita Sud, Wolfson Fellow and University lecturer in Development Studies at the Department of International Development, in her lecture entitled ‘God, Gold, and Government: Economic liberalism meets political illiberalism in western India', delivered before the Wolfson College Governing Body in the Haldane room on Wednesday 7th March.

Daniel Florentin receives Huber Dissertation Prize

Florentin completed his MSc in ‘Water Science, Policy and Management', and wrote his dissertation on ‘Insights into public experiences in Argentinian water sector after the end of the PPP-era.  Examples from Buenos Aires and the province of Santa Fe'. He will be presenting his findings at the Annual Meeting of American Geographers in New York early next year, another indication of the strength of his work.
